Summary and scope
The management of Council’s digital assets poses several challenges for the organisation. As there is currently no centralised repository for these assets, it leads to difficulties in sharing amongst staff and across departments. Currently photos and videos are stored in multiple locations within folder structures or local drives. The current processes do not effectively tag images and searching for images or identifying where images have been used can become and onerous task. Digital media from third parties such as photographers are received in the form of USB drives or cloud sharing, which in turn increases the multiple locations of file storage. Penrith City Council is seeking a centralised Digital Asset Management solution that will be utilised initially across the Communications and City Economy and Marketing teams with the ability to expand across the organisation.
