Taree Recreation Centre Renovations

Summary and scope

Midcoast Council has been successful in securing grant funding from the Federal Government community development program – allocated to the renovations of the current Danny Buderus Building – including internal renovations and fit out, external façade and roofing, and improvement works for stormwater management and drainage works around the building footprint. In summary works include – under the current footprint – the demolition of some internal walls and the creation of new and updated community spaces (such as referee room, parents room, etc), renovations on current public toilets, change rooms and disable toilets, relocation of canteen and canteen storage areas for community groups, to name a few. The works also include the partial demolition and partial reconstruction of a new roof with updated roofline (works on the southern part of the building). In addition, some improvement works regarding the stormwater design management and storage, coupled with some peripheral drainage works to improve rainwater and subsoil drainage onsite. Also included in the works some minor structural repairs and improvements. The expected timing for execution is between November 2023 and March 2024.
