Summary and scope

Council is seeking quotes from suitably qualified and capable contractors for the excavation and removal of silt and vegetation to prescribed levels. The soil is classed as “Fill Material”, please see Appendix C. The scope of works generally includes but is not limited to construction activities involving: • Location and protection of any and all underground and above ground services in the works area. • Protection of works from flooding, and temporary management of groundwater and stormwater water ingress/egress. • Earthworks and land forming. • Management of spoil and topsoil stockpiles and fill material borrow areas and associated sediment and erosion protection including silt fences. • Construction fencing and ancillary works. • Demobilisation and site clean-up. • Ensuring the works are undertaken safely and in accordance with all Council, EPA, Melbourne Water and statutory safety requirements. This includes disposal material of material offsite. The inflow to the wetland will be diverted Oct/early Nov 2023 to dry out the wetland as much as possible before the above works start in Jan/Feb 2024 the following year.
