Summary and scope

Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga (CEDWW) operates 24 primary and 5 secondary schools in the Catholic Diocese of Wagga Wagga. CEDWW is seeking expressions of interest for the provision of Wellbeing Counselling Services to its 24 Primary Schools for their following schools (students numbers as at February 2024 census). Student counselling within schools is a professional, evidenced-based service available to students to assist them with increased learning engagement, improved health, social and emotional functioning. The service is intended to be a short term intervention. School counsellors can play an important role in: the early identification of mental health and learning concerns; assisting students to address identified difficulties; assessing risk; and facilitating external referrals where appropriate. A school counsellor must not be a primary therapist for a student with complex mental health issues.
