Summary and scope
Council (the Principal) is seeking Submissions from appropriately qualified, suitably experienced and adequately resourced respondents for the procurement of Watercart Hire. Council employs a workforce to construct and maintain public infrastructure such as roads, drainage, water, sewerage, parks, reserves, bridges etc. In carrying out their responsibilities Council’s workforce may require the assistance of Contractors in the business of offering Watercarts for hire on a casual basis. Such Watercarts will be hired with an operator (Wet Hire). Council advertises on a bi-annual basis seeking “Quotations” from Contractors willing to hire Watercarts, with operator, to Council for an hourly rate. Additional quotes under the initial submitted quote may be submitted upon request for a quote for daily, weekly or monthly hire. To assist specific Council Employees engage appropriate, registered, insured, well maintained Watercarts with competent, safety conscious drivers/operators. Council compiles a list of approved Contractors for hire at an hourly rate basis, via an open quotation process, from quotation received at the advertised closing time that will be eligible for hire on an hourly basis. This contract provides for the hire of Watercarts with a driver, to work on approved Council job sites at the direction of an Authorised Council Employee. The intention of the contract is that all complying quotation will be accepted and Contractors will be ranked in accordance with their quoted price and/or the type and/or capacity of the Watercart quoted. Council will not be bound to engage any particular Contractor or the Contractor with the lowest rate. Council reserves the right to seek quotations for Watercarts on a project basis separate to works under this contract. This may occur for example where more contractors are required than there are available via this quotation or where specialised machinery or equipment is required.
