Summary and scope
Mount Barker District Council (Council) has identified the junction of Adelaide Road and Gawler Street, Mount Barker as a key node and entry to the Gawler Street Main Street environment. Council has previously developed a Gawler Street Mainstreet Strategy that recommended the junction be upgraded to provide a focal point for the main street, and improve pedestrian safety and accessibility over Adelaide Road. Council invites tenders from suitably qualified Contractors to undertake the following summary of works: Upgrade of the intersection of Adelaide Road and Gawler Street; Construction of a pedestrian crossing across Adelaide Road from the Adelaide Road/Gawler intersection to the Auchendarroch complex; Construction of a shared path linear trail to meet the existing linear trail in nearby Keith Stephenson Park and a further extension of the trail through the Auchendarroch complex. This RFT has been split into 3 separable portions for pricing purposes although, subject to adequate budget being available, Council’s preference is to award all 3 separable portions to one Contractor. All of the works are required to be completed 30 June 2018. Council will enter into a formal contract with the successful Tenderer.
