Project: Sunny Corner Wind Farm - Wind farm and battery (BESS) project Project owner: The Trustee for MRP Someva Project Trust 1 Location: NSW Australia Work package status: Open Scope: Full Scope Work package description: Supply, install and decommission temporary site compounds including site offices, amenities, laydown area, carpark, lunch rooms, meeting rooms, first aid room Solar powered temporary site compound options Operation includes waste disposal, cleaning, fuel supply, water supply, maintenance etc. Project overview: Sunny Corner Wind Farm is a joint venture between Mainstream Renewable Power and Someva Renewables Pty Ltd and is set to become one of the first wind farms operating within a NSW State Forest. Someva Renewables is an 100% Australian-owned, NSW-based renewable energy company that works with landowners, communities, and industry leaders to deliver the clean, affordable and reliable energy that will power Australia's future. Mainstream Renewable Power is a leading pure-play renewable energy company with wind and solar assets across Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.Mainstream and Someva have been awarded a permit by the Forestry Corporation of NSW to jointly investigate an onshore wind farm at Sunny Corner.The proposed Sunny Corner Wind Farm is a 500 MW wind farm and battery energy storage system project. The proposed Sunny Corner Wind Farm is located North of the Great Western Highway, approximately halfway between Lithgow and Bathurst in NSW.The associated infrastructure includes:Wind turbines and their hardstandsBattery energy storage systemsInternal access tracksPublic road upgrades330 kV/ 33 kV substations330 kV switchyard330 kV overhead transmission line33 kV underground cablesPermanent Operations and Maintenance buildingTemporary construction compounds, concrete batching plants, accommodationThe project is estimated to provide Full Time Equivalent (FTE) employment for up to 475 personnel during construction and 35 personnel during operations. Construction of the project is due to commence in late 2028, if approved.The proposed Sunny Corner Wind Farm will commence the process for engaging main contractors after the State Significant Development approval process is complete. It is expected that most of these work packages on the ICN Gateway website will be contracted through our selected main contractors. From 2028, the main contractors may commence their procurement process of the work packages outlined on this website. Expressions of interest submissions will remain open on ICN Gateway till December 2026.After registration of Expression of Interest, we may contact you for clarifications.
