Summary and scope

Lismore City Council is inviting submissions from suitably qualified contractors to undertake the Lismore Airport Run up Bay and Plane Parking Area Upgrade. Lismore City Council has received grant funding to reduce taxiway congestion and improve airport capacity and safety at Lismore Regional Airport through the construction of a combined General Aviation aircraft run-up bay and plane parking area. • The addition of an aircraft run-up bay will allow one (1) large aircraft or (2) smaller aircraft to conduct safe engine run-up in a customised area. • The plane parking area will provide parking for up to six (6) smaller planes and two (2) larger planes. The proposed works will: • Improve the airport’s general capacity and safety. • Provide improvements to the airports capacity whilst reducing the impacts of congestion at the General Aviation taxiway. • Provide a dedicated bay for airport engine run-ups to ensure aircraft operate optimally and reduces the likeliness of stone pick up from the General Aviation Apron.
