The Walcha Aerodrome is located approximately 7km SW of Walcha’s CBD. The access is about 3km W of the CBD along the Oxley Highway, then on Aerodrome Rd about 4km WSW to the end of the road. The aerodrome is a multipurpose site. The main users of the site are: • NSW Rural Fire Service – Aerial firefighting base • Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) • Walcha Aeroclub Deliverables: • Access Road (Aerodrome Rd) from marker post 6306-20 to the Aerodrome’s gate An allowance of 3000t of DSG40 or equivalent will be provided by the Walcha Council to cover these works. ? Patch / fix the pavement where necessary (potential potholes) ? Clean up drainage lines on both sides of the road, reshape if necessary ? Ensure a driving width of 6m • Gravel Runway An allowance of 4000t of gravel will be provided by the Walcha Council to cover these works. ? Patch / fix the pavement where necessary to prevent the formation of puddle ? Clean up drainage lines on both sides of the runway ? Ensure a constant runway width of 16m ? Place and compact a gravel overlay on the runway excl. the partially sealed ends.
