Road Widening of Erigolia Road, Binya

Summary and scope

The scope of this work is to supply all materials, components, and labour to complete the Erigola Road Shoulder widening as described below. Project Location: The project spans 11.6 kilometers, starting from Narrandera Shire Council’s Boundary at the south end which is approximately 4.9 kilometers from Burley Griffin Way near Kites Road, and ending at Narrandera Shire Council’s Boundary. This project falls under the jurisdiction of the Narrandera Shire Council, NSW. Construction Details: • Establishment and Disestablishment to the designated compound area. • Site surveillance and protections to ensure compliance with the Traffic management plans. • Supply and operation of all equipment required to undertake the civil works required to excavate to the design depths/widths, including the disposal of spoil around the site. • Supply and importation of all base materials and placement as per the pavement design and sealing of the new works. • Existing road to be widened equally on both sides of the road measuring from the centerline starting at the edge of existing seal which varies width along the length between 5.2m to 7.2m seal width a typical 3% crossfall or to match existing roadway crossfall. • Seal width to be 8 meters total of 14mm/7mm double/double on 9 meters total gravel width. • Depth of pavement widening to be 150mm thick crushed rock road base compacted to 98% beneath the seal. • Gravel to be exclusively Council produced from Alexander Pit located on Alexanders Rd (Lat: -34.047837, Long: 145.387872), contractor is to supply haulage from Pit to site and provide tracking of gravel quantities used. • Typical cross section showing these details is attached. • Traffic is to be managed by the contractor such that the road remains open. A Traffic Management Plan will be required to prepared, approved by Council and maintained during the period of construction. • Line marking of centerline and edges will be required for the full length of road.
