CUSTOMER STORY / 01JPD CONSTRUCTIONS NQ · CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

JPD wanted to grow without chasing every tender.

JPD was growing quickly across North Queensland. Tendor gave the team earlier procurement signals, buyer and budget context, and a structured path from tender pack to bid-ready response in three days.

THE COMPANY

Built for North Queensland's practical, regional work.

JPD Constructions NQ is a locally owned civil contractor based in Townsville and Charters Towers. Since launching in 2024, the business has taken on road and transport work, remote packages, urban development and emergency works across North Queensland.

Jake Jones leads the business, bringing a family background in civil construction that spans more than two decades. The wider team brings 39 years of combined Transport and Main Roads specification experience. As JPD took on more work, the priority was to protect that delivery standard while giving tendering a disciplined way to keep pace.

THE CHALLENGE

The business was moving faster than the bid process.

JPD was growing across North Queensland while still delivering live civil work. The pressure was not capability; it was everything surrounding a tender: finding the signal, understanding the buyer, checking the budget, building the price and program, then getting every returnable ready.

Jake wanted to grow the business without turning every opportunity into a last-minute scramble. The team needed a repeatable way to decide what deserved its attention—and keep the full response moving once that decision was made.

01

Early signals changed the starting point

By the time a live tender arrived, the team was already working against the deadline. JPD needed more room to plan, ask the right questions and decide whether to engage.

02

A bid decision needed a fuller picture

Budget signals, buyer plans, previous awards and likely competitors all mattered. Without a single view, deciding what to pursue relied too heavily on chasing information down.

03

The response had to stay connected

BOQ, pricing, local suppliers, the construction program, evidence and returnables needed to move together—without pulling a growing delivery team into another last-minute assembly job.

THE SOLUTION

A clearer route from early signal to final sign-off.

Tendor brought the decisions into one working process. JPD could see what was forming, decide what was worth its time, then build and review the response in one place.

  1. 01

    FIND THE WINDOW

See likely work before it becomes a rush.

Early procurement signals, buyer planning and public budget context brought likely work into view before a live RFP turned it into a last-minute chase.

Signals · buyer plans · budget context

  2. 02

    QUALIFY THE PURSUIT

Choose pursuits with a commercial view.

Buyer context, previous awards and competitor patterns gave the team a better basis for bid decisions—and more confidence to start the right buyer conversations early.

Buyer context · awards history · competitor view

  3. 03

    BUILD THE BID

Build the price and delivery plan together.

Tendor structured the tender pack into a working BOQ and pricing flow, with local supplier options and a construction program developed alongside it. JPD kept the estimating and delivery judgement.

BOQ · pricing · local suppliers · construction program

  4. 04

    REVIEW AND SUBMIT

Review one complete response, then submit.

Evidence, returnables, price, program and sign-off lived in the same response space, so the final review was about the bid—not reconciling versions.

    Evidence · returnables · review · final sign-off

THE IMPACT

Less chasing. Better bid decisions.

The time saving mattered, but speed was not the point. JPD had more room to test the fit, price with context and review the delivery plan before the deadline forced the decision.

TENDER PACK TO BID-READY RESPONSE

2 weeks

The tender pack, coordination and review cycle.

3 days

A bid-ready response with more room for judgement.

BOQ · pricing · construction program · returnables · evidence

RESPONSE TIME

From two weeks to three days

The tender pack became a bid-ready structured response in three days, leaving more time for the work that needs human judgement.

BID QUALITY

More context before the chase

Earlier signals, buyer context, budget and competitor intelligence helped JPD choose bids more deliberately and price against a clearer picture.

GROWTH CAPACITY

A process that can keep up

The aim was not simply to chase more work. It was to give a growing regional contractor a more structured way to pursue the work that supports its next stage.

"Having the early procurement signal and budget context helps us decide what is worth bidding for. With the whole tender in one place, we can price more strategically, spend less time chasing work and focus on the opportunities that will help us grow."
